Influence of Varying Amounts of Alumina (Al2O3) on the Wear Behavior of ZnO, SiO2 and TiO2 Compounds

This study aimed to exploit the superior properties of TiO2, ZnO, SiO2 and Al2O3 inorganic materials combine them under pressure investigate their mechanical properties. The hot pressing technique was used produce new materials. Varying amounts alumina such as 0, 5, 10, 20 30 wt% in compounds considered. produced were characterized by SEM, EDS XRD analyses. microhardness studied, tribological different wear loads, i.e., 10 N, N investigated for every specimen. In analysis, it observed that no significant peaks formed regarding increasing content. SEM characterization analyses showed had a two-phase structure with complex boundaries, clear grain boundaries formed. Moreover, elements found be line each other. tests, seen load increased, depth width track increased. highest weight loss loads obtained Ti55Si15Zn20Al10 material. It determined increased over wt%, losses decreased. there an increase value generally depending on content compounds.
